Final Solution: Our Implementation
Solution Overview
Project Name
TechKR
Tagline
Connecting skilled Nigerians to local and global Opportunities
The Problem We’re Solving
Digital Workers Problem:
Digital talents compete on saturated global platforms and often remain unseen.
Local Workers Problem:
Local artisans lack visibility, workspace, and access to client demand.
Clients’ Problem:
Clients struggle to find reliable, verified, and affordable talents. TechKR solves all three challenges with one system.
Our Solution
TechKR is a dual-market platform that serves two categories of skilled individuals:
a. Digitally Skilled Individuals
These include:
-
Graphic designers
-
Software developers
-
Writers and editors
-
Social media managers
-
Virtual assistants
-
Video editors
-
Digital marketers and so on
They struggle on existing global platforms due to overcrowding, low visibility, and high competition. TechKR creates a local-first system where digital skills can be discovered easily by clients seeking affordable, reliable talent.
b. Local Skilled Individuals (Non-Digital Workers)
These include:
-
Hairdressers
-
Barbers
-
Plumbers
-
Electricians
-
Fashion designers and tailors
-
Carpenters
-
Mechanics
-
Shoemakers and so on
Many of them have no shops, no online presence, and no accessible way to reach clients who need their services. TechKR integrates both digital and local workers into one platform, something existing marketplaces do not provide.

Challenges & Solutions
Challenge 1
- Problem: Determining what to include in the interview questions
- Solution: We brainstormed as a team to determine what questions would help us get our ground truth
Challenge 2
- Problem: Database Design
- Solution: We brainstormed and sought advise on what information would be necessary to have on our database to make our solution work.
Challenge 3
- Problem: Determining what tools, frameworks and libraries are best for our solution
- Solution: We had a brainstorm session as a team.
Key Learnings
What Worked Well
- Getting our design right
- Setting up the architecture and environment
What We’d Do Differently
- We would use tsx and tailwindcss for the frontend straight up rather than vanilla, then converting to jsx
- Make research first to understand the context of the hackathon rather than building on what we already had in mind.
Technical Learnings
- git/github for version control
- obsidian usage
- prisma ORM
