Phase 7: Final Hack Day
Date: December 13, 2024 (Friday)
Format: In-person at Next Trend Hub
Duration: Full day (9 AM - 6 PM)
Purpose
This is your third and final in-person session where you’ll:
- Submit official solutions
- Present to judges
- Demonstrate prototypes
- Celebrate the journey
- Local winners announced

Morning (9 AM - 11 AM)
Final Preparations
- Last-minute bug fixes
- Test demos on presentation equipment
- Rehearse presentations
- Set up demo booths
Midday (11 AM - 12 PM)
Official Submission Deadline
- Submit all team pages (7 pages required)
- Submit prototype URL
- Submit GitHub repository
- Submit presentation deck (optional)
Afternoon (12 PM - 5 PM)
Team Presentations & Judging
Each team gets:
- 10 minutes: Presentation
- 5 minutes: Q&A with judges
Presentation Structure:
- The Problem (2 min) - Show voice note evidence
- Your Journey (2 min) - Ground Truth → Insight → Hypothesis → Opportunity
- The Solution (4 min) - Live demo
- Impact & Next Steps (2 min)
- Q&A (5 min)
Evening (5 PM - 6 PM)
Winner Announcement
- Judges deliberate
- Top 3 (possibly 4) teams announced
- Local ADA prizes awarded
- Continental finalists advance
Submission Requirements

- Accessible links on Ground Truth page
- Minimum 10 recorded community interviews
- Automatic disqualification if missing
Judging Criteria

Local Prize Pool
Next Trend Hub (65 participants = 13 teams):

- 🥈 2nd Place: 300 ADA
- 🥉 3rd Place: 200 ADA
Total: 1,000 ADA
Winners also advance to continental evaluation.
Presentation Tips
Do:
✅ Start with a compelling voice note clip
✅ Show real community members using your prototype
✅ Explain your journey and pivots
✅ Be honest about challenges
✅ Demonstrate passion for the problem
Don’t:
❌ Skip the action-learning journey
❌ Use technical jargon judges won’t understand
❌ Apologize excessively for incomplete features
❌ Go over 10 minutes
❌ Have a backup person dominate (let multiple members speak)
What to Bring
✅ Laptop for demo (fully charged + charger)
✅ Demo video (backup if live demo fails)
✅ Presentation slides (optional but recommended)
✅ Voice note clips ready to play
✅ Team spirit and energy!
Next Phase
Phase 8 (Dec 14 - Jan 9): Wrap-up period. Local winners await continental evaluation results. CATS/WADA reviews all submissions and announces Top 5 global winners on January 9, 2025.
