Phase 2: Community Problem Discovery

Dates: November 8-21, 2024 (2 weeks)
Focus: Ground Truth collection - Quadrant 1 of action-learning

What Happens

During these two weeks, individual participants:

  • Conduct community interviews (minimum 10-15 people)
  • Record voice notes of all conversations (mandatory)
  • Observe community problems in real settings
  • Document findings in weekly reports
  • Attend check-ins to share progress

Weekly Check-ins

  • Wednesday 6:00 PM WAT - Progress updates
  • Saturday 1:00 PM WAT - Deep dives and troubleshooting

Key Activities

1. Community Interviews

  • Talk to diverse community members (different ages, occupations, neighborhoods)
  • Ask open-ended questions about daily challenges
  • Record voice notes for every interview
  • Take detailed observation notes

2. Problem Areas to Explore

  • Waste management
  • Transportation and mobility
  • Market efficiency
  • Education access
  • Healthcare access
  • Financial services
  • Energy/electricity
  • Water access
  • Community safety
  • Small business challenges

3. Documentation

Each participant maintains:

  • Voice note collection (uploaded to cloud storage)
  • Interview summaries
  • Observation notes
  • Weekly progress reports
